Introduction:
Why the rhinoceros?
... Is the question most often asked by visitors to the winery. The animal that decorates La Spinetta bottles certainly catches people’s attention. To be honest, though, there is no real connection between the animal and La Spinetta. The unspectacular truth is that owner of the vineyard, Giorgio Rivetti, has a long-held admiration of the celebrated drawing and woodcut by German artist Albrecht Dürer.
Tasting Note:
A nice bright red colour!
A truly unique nose! It starts on Morello cherries, developing through to thyme and black olive. It’s as if the wine is constantly changing, almost as if it’s alive in your glass.
Taste-wise, it opens with a great deal of freshness, with notes of blackcurrant and mint. Then you’ll perceive hints of mocha and yet more body. This wine is a real gem!
This is Barbaresco wine at its best!
Food Pairing:
The wine is ideal with grilled food, or rich red meats in a sauce. It’s also great with wild game, or simply for enjoying by itself.
