2005
Introduction:
Why the Lion on the label?
The other red wine offered by La Spinetta features a rhinoceros on the label. For the Barolo Campe, the winery opted for another of Dürer’s animal pencil drawings, this time a lion. Widely considered the king of Italian reds, La Spinetta felt that a lion, king of the animals, was a fitting choice for their wine.
Tasting Note:
An intense and vibrant ruby-red colour.
On the nose, the wine releases floral aromas and blackberries, before finishing on vanilla notes and a hint of rosebud.
In the mouth it is concentrated and rich. The soft and opulent tannins make for a powerful yet elegant wine. This wine is a typical Barolo that will please Barolo lovers everywhere!
Food Pairing:
The wine is ideal with grilled food, or rich red meats in a sauce. It’s also great with wild game, or simply for enjoying by itself.
This wine can be kept for 25 to 30 years, depending on the vintage.
