Alsace Albrecht Riesling “Reserve”

The family Albrecht has been in the winemaking business since 1421.The cellar, which was built in 1620, is packed with barrels that are more than 100 years old. Surely, the wines must be good!

The wine is a bright straw colour. The nose is clean and highly floral, with a hint of mineral to finish. Full on the palate, the wine is still very elegant and well balanced.

All in all, a very nice example of a everything a Riesling from Alsace should be.

André Kientzler is one of the best winemakers in the Alsace region, and represents the fifth generation to produce wine on the family estate. The average age of the vines is 35 years, which combined with limited yields and a strict selection process of grapes during harvest, helps to create pure and nervous wines with a perfect balance. The winery’s Grand Cru reaches optimum maturity at five years.
