Piemonte La Spinetta Barbera D’asti

La Spinetta was founded in 1977 in Italy’s Piemont region not far from the Alps. Despite its young age, this winery attracted attention by the quality of its production. Every year has seen an improvement and this particular wine, Barbera d’Asti, was first produced in 1998.

The nose is dense with a fruity, blackberry scented attack, then moving on to fresher notes of mint and spices, finishing with vanilla. In the mouth the wine is full bodied with soft tannins and a nice acidity and a very long length.
