The natural world can be truly awe-inspiring. In this edition, we discover the natural phenomenon and infinite beauty of coloured diamonds. Forged over centuries in the earth’s mysterious depths, these exquisite stones have been fashioned by man into the most wonderful earrings, gorgeous necklaces and sensational rings.
Such natural marvels deserve respect and consideration for the world around us. Young Chinese designer, Daizi Zheng’s Green Phone for Nokia does just that and her clever design proposes a viable solution to the problem of environmentally unfriendly and hard to dispose of mobile phone batteries.
Aubert de Villaine, co-owner of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, understands the rewards of coexisting harmoniously with nature. Here, he explains that to produce the world-class wines for which the Domaine is so famous requires a reverence for the soil, grape and terroir. It works: his wines are considered to be amongst the finest in the world, and the Montrachet in particular enjoys an almost legendary status amongst wine connoisseurs.
We also bring you a sneak preview of Tokyo’s Fine Art Fair, as well as Christie’s forthcoming sale of the collection of Asian Art connoisseur, Robert H. Blumenfeld.
Enjoy!
